In a historical moment for Michigan cannabis entrepreneurs and farmers, the state is set to open recreational marijuana sales on December 1st, 2019.
It’s a big deal and we’re so happy for the many businesses and consumers who will benefit from the marijuana deregulation.
But there’s still more to do for Michigan cannabis and hemp business owners.
From an insurance prospective, new laws and a green (pun intended) regulatory body adds risk for entrepreneurs.
Local insurers in Michigan may be unprepared to handle the new cannabis business boom sure to hit the state as more licenses are granted.
To get to know more about Michigan cannabis and hemp entrepreneurs, the Full Spectrum team will be at the Midwest iHemp Festival in Lansing, Michigan in January. We hope you’ll join us there!
Editorially, Full Spectrum aims for a more diverse and inclusive cannabis industry without barriers to entry. We would like to see Michigan and other states open access to cannabis business licenses without archaic regulations that disproportionately affect underserved populations.
Regardless, the deregulation of recreational marijuana in Michigan is a great step forward and we look forward to working with more local cannabis and hemp entrepreneurs in the state.
